All four of these different types have their strengths and weaknesses. Knowing the type of argument you will be using is an important aspect of creating effective persuasion techniques.
Argument from Honor: This well-known method is used by men and women in marriage. If a husband or wife has a dream that has been broken and does not have any hope, this type of argument works to convince the person who broke the dream. The idea is that if someone broke your dream, you can always find one that was better. You can also ask your spouse to wait for another time. If you feel this will not work, you can explain to them that they will lose their sense of honor if they do not do what they said they would do. Argument from morality: Moral arguments are used to persuade people to change their minds. This is used for religion, politics, and even in education. It can be something as simple as telling a child that the way they choose to behave is not the best way to be. If you wish to use this argument, then you should keep it subtle enough that it can be easily misunderstood. Argument from hope: People hear this argument when they want to convince someone to change their opinion. It works because you can always find an alternative that will be a better alternative. Maybe you could get a new job, or maybe you could choose another path to pursue. Sometimes you will also find yourself living a life that was not your desire. Argument from interest: It is common for people to tell someone that their interest in an activity is one of the reasons that they do it. Maybe they are fascinated with nature or with learning. It is one of the most popular types of persuasive arguments. It can be used by people who are interested in acting, painting, writing, or even cooking. Argument from skill: Many people can only be as good as the job they do. To get this kind of argument, you can use people like teachers, actors, writers, chefs, or whoever. You can give them a word that means nothing to them and show them that their talent can be molded into something great. Argument from something: If you do not know anything about something, you can create this argument. This is similar to the argument from interest, but this is very effective because it allows you to appeal to what people are looking for. People are looking for something that is important to them. They do not need to be experts, they just need someone who can help them achieve their goal. Knowing the four types of persuasive arguments is helpful when you use them to persuade others. Knowing the weak points of each argument will help you apply the strongest argument.
